Humans of an Dream Dearg: Aodhán Ó Baoill

My name is Aodhán Ó Baoill and I’m a student at QUB. I’m a member of the Cumann Gaelach and last year was elected as the first Irish Language Officer in the Students’ Union.

Last year, Dream Dearg stood with us in the fight against attacks on Irish. We have an ongoing campaign to restore bilingual signage to the university campus. Irish is going from strength to strength in QUB.

Of course, I use it every day, both inside and outside of my classes. I will do my very best - as will everyone - as Irish Language Officer to get bilingual signage on campus, working alongside Dream Dearg.

An Independent Irish Language Act is needed in the North, and the signs are a huge step closer to that goal. #AchtAnois #RedTodayAndEveryDay
