Humans of an Dream Dearg - Conchúr Ó Muadaigh

My name is Conchur Ó Muadaigh. I manage an Irish speaking youth club, Cumann Óige Uachtar Chluanaí . We provide non-formal educational opportunities for young people through the medium of Irish outside the school environment.

We continually face barriers and obstacles in developing our sector and today still experience exclusion and discrimination in the allocation of resources for Irish medium youth clubs.

An Irish language Act for me, as a youth worker, will bring parity of esteem for our young people and an equitable allocation of resources to enhance their educational experience.

After international commitments in 2006 the time is now to implement legislative protection and a language strategy for the growing Irish speaking community here in the north. #AchtAnois #RedTodayAndEveryday
